About Us

The Snake River Valley Chapter is a proud affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind of Idaho,
rooted in the heart of Eastern Idaho. Our members span a wide stretch of the Snake River Valley —
from Pocatello in the south to Rexburg in the north — united by a shared commitment to independence,
dignity, and opportunity for blind Idahoans of every age.

We believe blindness does not define a person’s potential. Through advocacy, peer support, and
community engagement, we work every day to change what it means to be blind in Idaho.

“We are not asking for charity. We are asking for the chance to be full participants in our communities — and we are working together to make that a reality.”

Our chapter meets monthly — sometimes in person, sometimes over Zoom — to connect members,
share resources, and coordinate advocacy efforts that make a real difference. Whether you are
newly blind, a family member, a professional, or someone who has lived with vision loss for years,
there is a place for you here.

We would love to meet you. Come to a meeting, ask a question, or simply learn more about what the
National Federation of the Blind can do for you or someone you care about.
